Lexington Medical Center Welcomes Michael S. Comer, MD, to Lexington Family Practice West Columbia

Lexington Medical Center is pleased to welcome Michael S. Comer, MD, to the hospital’s network of care. Dr. Comer will practice at Lexington Family Practice West Columbia, a Lexington Medical Center physician practice.

Dr. Comer graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina in Columbia with a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed his residency with the University of South Carolina in Columbia.

During his residency, Dr. Comer served as a volunteer at the Good Samaritan Free Medical Clinic and the Good Samaritan Prenatal/OB Medicine Clinic, both in Columbia. He also volunteered with the Dreher High School Football Medical Team.

In addition to his training in family medicine, Dr. Comer has extensive experience in emergency medicine through his work with Lexington County Emergency Medical Services. He received several honors and awards during his residency, including the Palmetto Health/USC Family Medicine Resident of the Block Award and the Palmetto Heath Children’s Hospital Appreciation Award.

Dr. Comer joins the highly skilled physicians at Lexington Family Practice West Columbia to provide comprehensive care for the entire family. In addition to well visits and same-day sick and urgent appointments, the practice offers on-site CT scans, nuclear stress testing and advanced cardiac screenings.

Dr. Comer is accepting new patients.
