Dry Drowning: What Parents Need to Know

Jul. 17 2018

From the beach to the lake to the pool, we spend a lot of time in the water in the summer in South Carolina. One topic of conversation that's been heard recently is "dry drowning." What is it? Can your child really drown hours after swimming? What should you do if they swallow a lot of water? The thought can be scary for parents.

In this WLTX interview, Dr. Caroline Webber, pediatrician with Lexington Pediatric Practice, separates the fact from fiction on dry drowning and tells parents what they should be on the lookout before the next time their child takes a dip in the water.

Lexington Pediatric Practice has two convenient locations in Lexington and West Columbia. The practice has professional staff that puts your child’s care as the top priority with kid-friendly labs, vaccines and treatments.
