Sandhills Family Medicine recently celebrated its 40th anniversary of serving patients in the Lexington area. J. Edward Golay, MD, founded the practice in 1980. After leaving its previous affiliation in 1998, Sandhills Family Medicine joined the Lexington Medical Center Network of Care in October of that year. The practice has been in the LMC network now for more than 20 years.
“When we joined LMC, our providers were able to continue working with their patients while receiving the best support possible,” said Dr. Golay.
In the past three years, Sandhills Family Medicine has added two advanced practice providers and a new physician to help meet the growing needs of the Lexington community. These additions brought the practice’s total number of providers to six. They provide routine primary care, chronic disease management, lab and radiology services and physical exams.
