Cancer Survivors Baseball Game

Join the Lexington Medical Center Foundation at Spirit Communications Park in Columbia on Sunday, June 11 for an afternoon of baseball, family fun and honoring cancer survivors. The Columbia Fireflies will host a Cancer Survivors Baseball Game presented by a Lexington Oncology, a Lexington Medical Center physician practice. A portion of ticket sales will benefit the Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund.

The goal is to fill the stadium with as many attendees as possible to honor the courage of cancer survivors in our community. The afternoon begins at 1:30 p.m. when cancer survivors will take a victory lap around the field, celebrating their hard-fought battles against cancer. The baseball game begins at 2:00 p.m. against the Charleston RiverDogs.


“Lexington Medical Center is looking forward to honoring cancer survivors in our community at this special event. We hope to see many survivors and their families at the baseball game,” said Barbara Willm, Vice President of Development and Community Relations at Lexington Medical Center. “And the Lexington Medical Center Foundation is passionate about helping cancer patients in need through our Cancer Care Fund.”

Cancer patients who have received treatment at Lexington Medical Center and would like to participate in the special events should contact Kaylee Swanson with the Columbia Fireflies at (803) 888 – 3014 to sign up for free tickets. Participants will receive four free game tickets with reserved seating, four stadium meals and a cancer survivor t-shirt.

The Lexington Medical Center Foundation’s Cancer Care Fund provides a variety of care programs for patients so that they can focus on healing.
