A three-time Olympic gold medalist, Staley has been the University of South Carolina women’s basketball head coach since 2008. Under her leadership, the Gamecocks have achieved honors including a first-ever #1 national ranking and an NCAA Final Four appearance in 2015. Staley has also tripled the number of fans attending women’s basketball games at the university.

In Columbia, Staley encourages her teams to pursue community service opportunities, and also founded Innersole, which aims to provide new sneakers to children who are homeless and children in need.

The Lexington Medical Center Foundation fills important community needs by supporting a variety of hospital and community programs including a cancer care fund, a boutique for breast cancer patients, nursing scholarships, LMC’s doula program, an outdoor garden at Carroll Campbell Place, health care internships, a mobile medical unit, pastoral care and prescription assistance.

Thank you to WIS-TV for covering the event. And, WIS-TV news anchor Judi Gatson served as the emcee.
