LMC Welcomes Radiation Oncologist Dr. Joshua Lawson
“Radiation oncologists make people with cancer better and give them a chance of a cure for their disease,” he said, adding that he’s happy to be at Lexington Medical Center. “It’s a well run hospital with caring and competent people who deliver good care.”
Dr. Lawson comes to Lexington Medical Center from Moores Cancer Center in La Jolla, California, where he was an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Lawson earned an undergraduate degree in Biology and an MD at Emory University in Atlanta. He also completed an internship in Internal Medicine and residency in Radiation Oncology at Emory. He is board certified in Radiation Oncology by the American Board of Radiology.
Dr. Lawson and his wife Erin are originally from Atlanta. They have 4-year-old twin daughters and are expecting a third child later this year. “It’s nice to be back in the Southeast close to family,” he said.
