LMC Welcomes Rev. Charles Jackson to Board of Directors
Lexington Medical Center is pleased to welcome Reverend Charles Jackson as a new member of its board of directors. Jackson, pastor of Brookland Baptist Church in West Columbia, will serve a three-year term.
“My life and ministry have been dedicated to making a difference in our community,” Jackson said. “I will strive to represent the high ideals that have made Lexington Medical Center the best in professional and medical services.”
Rev. Jackson has served as pastor of Brookland Baptist Church for 40 years. A native of West Columbia, he graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School and magna cum laude from Benedict College. He attended seminary at the Morehouse School of Religion of the Interdenominational Theological Center in Atlanta, GA, receiving a Master of Divinity degree. He also holds honorary Doctor of Divinity degrees from Morris College and Benedict College.
Rev. Jackson’s work in the community has also included serving on the Morris College Board of Trustees, University of South Carolina Board of Visitors, Fellowship of Christian Athletes Board of Directors, Distressed Areas Task Force for New Carolina, Cayce-West Columbia Rotary and Minority Advisory Council for Congressman Joe Wilson,.
Dr. Jackson and his wife Robin have two children and four grandchildren.
