LMC Names New Board Member

Ernest Rene Derrick, new member of the Lexington Medical Center board of directors

Lexington Medical Center is pleased to welcome Mr. Ernest Rene Derrick to its hospital board of directors. Mr. Derrick will join the 21-member board serve a three-year term.

“Mr. Derrick will be a wonderful addition to the Board of Directors. He has valuable life experiences that he can rely on during his service on the Board, and I know he genuinely cares about providing high-quality health services to the people in our community,” says Thad Westbrook, chair of the Lexington Medical Center board of directors.

Mr. Derrick worked for SCANA for 28 years before his retirement. He served as SCANA’s land department manager, with Lake Murray management and in the Right-of-Way department. He is active in community and civic organizations such as the Lions Club and the Jamil Temple Shriners. He attends Lake Murray Baptist Church. Mr. Derrick is a graduate of the University of South Carolina with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.

“I want to bring a heart center to Lexington Medical Center and help in any way I can to make that happen,” he says. Mr. Derrick and his wife currently reside in Lexington, where he has lived for 40 years. He has two sons and four grandchildren.
