Saluting Our Volunteers

Lexington Medical Center’s volunteers celebrated Volunteer Week with a luncheon, as administrators, directors and managers applauded their dedication and commitment to service.

In 2015, more than 300 LMC volunteers spent more than 61,625 hours delivering flowers and cards, staffing information desks, facilitating pet therapy and assisting patients in departments throughout the hospital network. Here are some photos from our Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon on April 13.

And the volunteers give more than their time. Through the Volunteer Auxiliary, they have purchased needed equipment for the hospital and awarded more than $75,000 in nursing scholarships this year to high school graduates and those pursuing continuing education in a nursing career. The volunteers have also raised money for the Emergency Care Fund, which helps employees in need. Thank you to our volunteers for all you do for LMC and our community.

LMC Celebrates Volunteers

Each day at Lexington Medical Center, our hospital volunteers deliver warm smiles, beautiful flowers and helpful assistance to our patients.  Their work begins with small gestures. But their impact is enormous.

Identifiable by the pink and red vests they wear, our volunteers spend more than 65,000 hours each year helping us to provide the best health care with their unsurpassed compassion and commitment. They also play a philanthropic role in providing important resources for people throughout our community.

This year, the Lexington Medical Center Volunteer Auxiliary is buying a new digital mammography van for the hospital. The van will travel around the Midlands upon request to provide mammograms at civic, social and church groups. The volunteer auxiliary also awards more than $60,000 in nursing scholarships each year to high school graduates and people pursuing continuing education in a nursing career.  And, last year, the volunteers raised more than $4,000 for our Emergency Care Fund, which helps employees in need.

Lexington Medical Center hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Luncheon this month to say thank you to our volunteers for their service.  Here are some pictures.
