Diabetes and Addictions

From alcohol and opiates to gambling and shopping, addiction comes in many forms. Experts are learning more about the science behind these behaviors and how to help prevent them. That includes addictions to food.

In January, Roberta Jupp, RD, LD, CDE, certified dietician at Lexington Medical Center, will begin hosting a series of classes about diabetes and addictions. Specifically, the series will address how certain foods affect the brain and teach participants how to counter their cravings. She talked about it in this WLTX interview today.

This series of classes is part of D2 & Me, a support and wellness group for people with Type 2 diabetes and their families.
