Reconstructive Plastic Surgery for Skin Cancer

South Carolina has an above average rate of skin cancer. Using tanning beds and not wearing sunscreen outdoors are leading causes. In this story for WIS-TV, Dr. Todd Lefkowitz of Lexington Plastic Surgery introduces us to one of his patients, who needed extensive reconstructive plastic surgery on her face after a diagnosis of skin cancer.

Lexington Medical Center is pleased to present its January physician lecture, “New Year, New You: Aesthetic Facial Rejuvenation Resolutions,” on Monday, January 26, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. inside the Lexington Medical Park 1 Auditorium. The lecture is free and open to the public. It’s part of the hospital’s monthly physician lecture series on health topics that are important to our community.

Dr. Todd Lefkowitz, Lexington Plastic Surgery

Dr. Todd Lefkowitz of Lexington Plastic Surgery, a Lexington Medical Center physician practice, will be the featured speaker. A West Columbia native, Dr. Lefkowitz graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed a general surgery residency at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in Manhattan. Then, he attended the University of Louisville for further formal training in plastic surgery, learning the latest aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgical techniques. Dr. Lefkowitz also completed a highly competitive aesthetic surgery fellowship in New York City, focusing on cosmetic surgery of the face, breast and body. Dr. Lefkowitz is dual board certified in general surgery and plastic surgery.

During the lecture, Dr. Lefkowitz will address plastic surgery procedures ranging from Botox injections to facelifts.
