Best in the Nation for Patient Experience

Lexington Medical Center’s ambulatory surgery center in Irmo has been named as one of the best in the nation for patient experience by Press Ganey, a well-known company in the health care industry that collects patient, employee and physician evaluations on hospitals.

“Achieving this level of excellence reflects our hospital’s commitment to delivering outstanding service and quality,” said Susan Horton, director of Guest Services. “The employees at LMC Irmo always strive to provide the most extraordinary care to our patients.”

With scores that consistently rank in the 99th percentile, Lexington Medical Center Irmo received Press Ganey’s Guardian of Excellence award, which honors health care organizations reaching the 95th percentile in patient satisfaction for each reporting period of the year. Fewer than 5 percent of organizations measured by Press Ganey qualify for this award.

Press Ganey partners with more than 10,000 health care facilities across the nation to improve the quality and safety of patient care, to provide a positive and collaborative environment for employees and physicians, and to deliver exceptional patient experiences.

Irmo Outpatient Surgery Earns Prestigious Awards for Patient Care

Lexington Medical Center Irmo’s Ambulatory Surgery department is one of the highest rated health care facilities in the nation for patient experience, according to Press Ganey, a national organization that tracks and ranks the delivery of health care across the country through patient surveys. With its high ratings, Lexington Medical Center Irmo Ambulatory Surgery has earned the prestigious 2016 Guardian of Excellence Award and Pinnacle of Excellence Award for patient experience from Press Ganey for its outstanding care.

The Pinnacle of Excellence Award goes to the top three performing organizations in the nation for overall patient experience in at least the 95th percentile for three years running.

Lexington Medical Center Irmo is an outpatient hospital has been serving the people of the Irmo community for approximately 30 years. Its Ambulatory Surgery department performs more than 150 surgeries there each month.
 

Community Builder Cynthia Byrd

Congratulations to Cynthia Byrd, patient access representative at Lexington Medical Center Irmo outpatient surgery, on becoming a community builder! WIS-TV and Mungo Homes awarded her the honor this week for her work organizing an annual school supply drive and fashion show in honor of her late son Brandon, who was killed in a car accident at age 20. Proceeds from the fashion show benefit a scholarship fund in her son’s name.

WIS-TV news anchor Mary King and Matt Mungo of Mungo Homes came to Lexington Medical Center Irmo to surprise her with the Community Builder award. Co-workers surrounded her as everyone revealed the surprise.

The Remembering Brandon Lavar Byrd Fashion Show will be held next Saturday, Aug. 13 at Harbison Theatre at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 a person and children under 3 are free.
