Lexington Medical Center proudly welcomes Douglas R. Sinclair, DO, to Southeastern Neurology and Memory Clinic. The practice provides comprehensive care in the evaluation, monitoring, prevention and treatment of cognitive and general neurological disorders, including nervous system inflammatory diseases, Alzheimer’s disease, affective disorders, fibromyalgia, early and late onset dementia, post-traumatic stress disorder and Parkinson’s disease, among other conditions.

Douglas R. Sinclair, DO

An honors graduate of Rollins College in Winterpark, Florida, Dr. Sinclair earned his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri. He then completed an internal medicine internship at Northside Hospital and Heart Institute in St. Petersburg, Florida. After his internship, Dr. Sinclair completed residencies in internal medicine and adult neurology at the University of Tennessee in Memphis, where he also served as chief resident.

Dr. Sinclair is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a member of the American Academy of Neurology. He has more than 10 years of experience in adult neurology and has specialized skills in electromyography, evoked potential testing, electroencephalograms, lumbar punctures, and maintenance programming for vagal nerve stimulation and deep brain stimulation. He most recently treated neurology patients at Epilepsy Services of South Florida in Bradenton and as a partner at Bradenton Neurology.

Dr. Sinclair joins Donald E. Schmechel, MD, and the highly skilled staff at Southeastern Neurology & Memory Clinic. He is accepting new patients.

Lexington Medical Center Welcomes Samantha Cox, DO

Lexington Medical Center is pleased to welcome Samantha Cox, DO, to its network of care at Southern Surgical Group. She joins the highly skilled surgeons, physician assistants and nurse practitioners at the practice to provide comprehensive vascular surgical care using the latest in advanced technology.

A graduate of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Dr. Cox earned her osteopathic medical degree from Ohio University in Athens. She then completed a general surgery internship and residency at Summa Akron City Hospital in Akron, Ohio. After her residency, she completed a vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. 

Dr. Cox is certified in advanced cardiac and trauma life support, as well as fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery. A member of the American College of Surgeons, the American Medical Association, the Association of Women Surgeons and the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery, among other organizations, she most recently published research about developing a standard for urgent and emergent vascular surgery. She also recently presented research for pulmonary embolus management using a catheter-based technique at the Advances in Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy annual meeting and for endovascular management of pulmonary embolus and axillary artery embolus at the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society annual meeting.

Lexington Medical Center Welcomes Patrice L. High, DO

Lexington Medical Center is pleased to welcome Patrice L. High, DO, to its network of care at Palmetto Family Medicine. She joins the board-certified physicians, physician assistant and nurse practitioner at the practice to provide comprehensive care to patients in Northeast Columbia.

“I am looking forward to joining the Lexington Medical Center family at Palmetto Family Medicine and resuming my practice in Northeast Columbia, where I have spent most of my 15-year medical career,” said Dr. High.

A cum laude graduate of Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Dr. High earned her osteopathic medical degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan. She then completed a family medicine internship and residency at Community Hospital of Lancaster in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, where she also served as chief resident.

Dr. High is certified in family medicine by the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners. She also has additional certifications in basic and advanced cardiac life support. She is a member of American Academy of Family Physicians, the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, the American Osteopathic Association and the South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society, among other organizations.

Dr. High’s special interests include preventive care, diabetes management, and women’s health and life development. She most recently worked at a community health center in Lugoff.
