LMC Announces New Volunteer Opportunities

Lexington Medical Center is expanding its Volunteer Services program with a unique new opportunity. The hospital is looking for participants to join its volunteer program to help patients as they prepare to leave the hospital. These volunteers will meet patients at their hospital rooms once they have been cleared for discharge, help them get their belongings and escort them and their families to their cars as they leave the facility.

Volunteer BrochureThe volunteers will work shifts from Monday through Friday. Afternoon shifts from 2 to 5 p.m. are especially needed.

Interested individuals must fill out an application and participate in an interview. Volunteer training is provided.

Volunteers make a significant impact on the lives of patients and their families. In addition to new friends and rewarding experiences, volunteers enjoy social events, free meals in the hospital cafeterias, a free mammogram, a free health assessment and a discount membership to Health Directions, the hospital’s wellness facility.
