Blood Pressure: Less than 120/80
Total Cholesterol: Less than 200
LDL (bad) Cholesterol: Less than 100
HDL (good) Cholesterol: 50 or higher
Body Mass Index (BMI): Less than 25
The Mediterranean Diet, which focuses on fresh fruits and vegetables, lean meats, olive oil, herbs and spices, and limits processed foods, red meat, butter and salt, is recognized as one of the most heart healthy diets.
Drink Green Tea. It reduces the risk of heart attack and stroke.

Pets offer numerous benefits beyond unconditional love. Studies show that owning pets can reduce blood pressure, cholesterol, triglycerides and loneliness.
Smokers are two to four times more likely to develop heart disease. Even secondhand smoke can damage blood vessels. The good news? Risks drop dramatically soon after you quit.
Omega-3 fatty acids in fish oil are a wonder drug. They can lower cholesterol and triglycerides, prevent blood clots and reduce inflammation and depression.
More women than men die of heart disease. It’s the leading cause of deaths in women over age 25 and kills more women than all forms of cancers combined. Women lead busy lifestyles with jobs and family, exposing them to more stress and less time for exercise or doctor visits. It’s important that women take time for heart health.
