LMC Helps Kick Off New School Year

Lexington Medical Center was pleased to sponsor a breakfast for the annual Lexington-Richland 5 school district’s Back-to-School Kickoff for district teachers and employees.

Nearly 2,500 school district staff members attended the breakfast and pep rally at Dutch Fork High School on the morning of August 18th. In addition, Lexington Medical Center doctors and staff members were there with information on the hospital and its services including Ob/Gyn care, Midwives, Cardiac Rehabilitation and Health Directions, the hospital’s health and wellness facility.

Present at the breakfast to meet and greet with school district employees were Dr. Jim Estes, Lexington Women’s Care Ob/Gyn; Dr. Whitney Thoma, Chapin Women’s Care Gyn; Terre Shankle, Lexington Women’s Care Midwife; Mimi Jackson of Cardiovascular Rehabilition and Lisa Minges of Health Directions.

This is the first year that Lexington Medical Center has sponsored the breakfast for this event. “We are always looking for new, innovative ways to show our partnership with our community,” said Barbara Willm, vice president of community relations at Lexington Medical Center. “We believe the partnership between business and education is important; we’re always supportive of our school systems.”
