The Lexington Medical Center family honored the work of a devoted and compassionate physician Tuesday night. About 150 co-workers, relatives and friends attended a retirement party for Dr. Carl White inside Lexington Medical Park 2 on the Lexington Medical Center campus.
During the party, Dr. White received gifts including a proclamation for his contribution to improving and maintaining the health and wellness of the citizens of Lexington County for more than thirty years. The hospital expressed its gratitude to Dr. White for his lifetime commitment and dedication as a physician, medical leader and mentor.
Dr. White has been with Lexington Medical Center for 35 years, practicing with Internal Medicine Associates. During that time, he served as a member of the hospital’s Medical Executive Committee, the chief of the IM/GP Department, chairman of the Special Care Committee, chairman of the Utilization Review committee, and director of the EKG Department.
Dr. White graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) and completed an internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship at MUSC. He also served as a Captain in the United States Airforce, working as an internist, before coming to Lexington Medical Center. Dr. White is married to Nancy Hall White. They have one son, Andrew.
